Contributions

Cohen's cited work covers penile prosthesis placement in the neophallus and robotic ureteral reconstruction with appendiceal flaps; his research at UCSF applied computational fluid dynamics to urethral stricture.345

  • Bone-anchored penile prosthesis after radial forearm phalloplasty (2017). Led a University of Chicago series of 10 patients whose implant rear tip was anchored through a pubic corticotomy; 70% needed reoperation, and 80% had a functioning prosthesis at a mean follow-up of 49 months.3 Cited on WARWIKI: Penile Implant After Phalloplasty, Radial Forearm Free Flap (RFFF).
  • Robotic augmented roof ureteroplasty with appendiceal onlay flap (2023). Senior author of a video report of a mid-to-proximal ureteral stricture repaired with a pedicled appendiceal onlay, using concurrent ureteroscopy and indocyanine green to define the anatomy.4 Cited on WARWIKI: Augmented Anastomotic Ureteroureterostomy, Appendiceal Onlay / Interposition.
  • Computational fluid dynamic modeling of urethral stricture (2019). Built a model of an idealized male urethra with 16 stricture scenarios; stricture diameter and bladder pressure had a strong effect on flow, while stricture location, length and sequence had a weaker one.5
