Kulkarni Two-Stage Urethroplasty

Kulkarni's two-stage technique modifies the classic Johanson approach by incorporating penile skin or oral mucosal grafts at the first stage to create a wider, well-vascularized urethral plate before tubularization. This modification is particularly useful in lichen sclerosus (BXO) where native penile skin is diseased and unreliable. The technique is widely employed for complex penile or panurethral strictures requiring staged reconstruction.
